Megraw is a fearsome resident of the northeast who has a thick northern accent, golden eyes, brown-and-white plumage, and enjoys eating fish. While wandering the skies he finds the Great Inland Lake and tries to land on the island in its middle but is viciously attacked by Athrak's flock one night and receives a severely dislocated wing in the process. He escapes and flies to a nearby waterfall where he decides to live, though secretly plans on exacting revenge on the birds. He meets Song when she rescues him after he accidentally falls into the water, and they are saved by a cormorant as they go over the edge of the falls. After traveling for a while they meet Gawjo and are reunited with Song's three pals (Burble, Dann, and Dippler respectively). Gawjo heals his wing and, upon arriving at Marlfox Island, he fulfills his promise when he kills Athrak and the other magpies. He later stays on the island to watch over the peaceful water rats. Along with Pandion, he is the only osprey to appear in the series.
