Mangiz is the Seer in Ironbeak's flock who originates from the Northlands and also acts as the General's aide. Upon seeng Redwall in his visions he encourages the raven leader to conquer it, however when they arrive his visions are clouded by a "mouse dressed strangely". He eventually realizes how important Martin's tapestry is to the Redwallers and tells Ironbeak to steal it in order to lower the woodlanders' morale, and the plan is nearly successful until the inhabitants fight back. As with most Seers he is incredibly superstitious and grows scared of the mysterious armoured spirit that haunts the birds (really Cornflower dressed up in armour and Constance providing the spooky voice), though he hides this from Ironbeak as he is fully aware of the raven's fiery temper. In addition he begins to lie to his leader about the visions, claiming he can see more clearly even though they are still foggy from the mouse warrior. During the final battle he attempts to rally the flock but is killed by an angry Constance.
