Lugg - a river in Wales - is a large soldier in the Ravagers army who, along with his mate Gliv, works under Zwilt. He is physically quite strong and works with Gliv to secretly kill Dirva without any obvious signs, thus they suffocate her. He is later ordered by Zwilt to wade into an underground pool and slay a huge eel, however when he throws his spear it only grazes the beast and causes it to become angry. It charges at and kills Lugg, and his grieving mate blames Zwilt. Gliv is the only vermin to reveal her feelings for her mate, saying that although he was a "big lump of a stoat" she loved him.
