This famous hare army resides at Salamandastron and is always led by the Badger Lord or Lady. They have a specialized military hierarchy and are known as "Stonepaw's Stalwarts" prior to being founded by Brocktree. Their numbers have varied over the seasons - Russano commands over one thousand hares, whilst Boar and Rawnblade have about ten fighters - but regardless of how many there are, they are known to be feared warriors who do not hesitate to battle foes in the name of peace and freedom. The Long Patrol is an ancient ally of Redwall that has served the land for innumerable seasons.
