Loambudd is an older resident of the Southwest Lands and considered to be a fearsome fighter in her young seasons. She is the wife of Urthclaw, mother of Urthound, mother-in-law of Urthrun, and grandmother of Urthstripe and Urthwyte. After Ferahgo murders her son and daughter-in-law she attempts to find her grandsons but can only locate Urthwyte, taking him to the island in the middle of the Great Inland Lake where she raises him into adulthood. She later travels with him and Mara to Salamandastron where they arrive just after Urthstripe kills himself and Ferahgo. Urthwyte succeeds his brother as Badger Lord, and she stays here permanently.
