Lask is the large Genera of the monitor lizard army on Sampetra that serves Ublaz. He has scaly grey-blue skin, wields a cutlass (along with his powerful claws), and when speaking replaces the "S's" with "Z's." Along with a score of lizards and Romsca's crew he is sent out by Ublaz to retrieve the Tears of all Oceans, a mission Conva had previously failed to achieve, and when he believes the goods are inside Redwall he threatens the lives of the captured Durral and Viola. Romsca had already warned him about the inhabitants being quite fearsome, and Lask witnesses this when Martin II has to be held back by Auma as he attempts to get at the lizard. He is pursued by the mouse Warrior's group and attempts to return to Sampetra aboard Waveworm. While on the ship he constantly argues with Romsca, who protects the two captives from the other lizards and insults him. A great battle erupts between both sides and all are killed, with Lask inflicting a fatal wound across Romsca's back but also dying from many slashes by her blade.
