Korvus - derived from "corvus", Latin for raven - is the very large leader of the Doomwyte army who lives with them inside a huge cavern in Mossflower. He is the descendant of Rigvar, wears Sicariss on his head, and wants to find the missing Great Doomwyte Idol jewels which had been stolen by Gonff innumerable seasons before. As he is highly superstitious, Sicariss uses this to her advantage by pretending to communicate with Welzz as she knows her leader believes she can talk to the catfish. He eventually finds out that she has been playing him the entire time and throws her to Welzz. At one point he is responsible for the murders of Namur and Varon, causing a grieving Zaran to swear vengeance. Although he is secretly terrified of Baliss he makes a deal with him: if the massive adder can terrorize the Redwallers, he will be given all the Doomwyte reptiles and amphibians to eat. This plan completely backfires after Baliss is severely injured at the Abbey, and as he blames Skurr for it he starts to kill his fighters. In the final battle Skurr attempts to escape from the cavern but is spotted and killed by Zaran.
