Karangool is the Captain-in-Chief in Trunn's horde who wields a sword and, along with Groddil, the only fox in the army. He is a former corsair, considered to be an expert fighter, one of the most intelligent secondary antagonists in the series, and responsible for killing Bucko's family as well as permanently scarring the mountain hare. Despite being totally loyal to Trunn, he secretly plans to desert with Doomeye and Ripfang if the wildcat loses to Brocktree in single combat; after this happens, he attempts to flee the Western Coast aboard the army's ships but is shoved back into the water by Ripfang. Bucko swiftly catches up to his enemy and starts beating him with the flat of his blade, and while it is not specifically mentioned Karangool is presumably killed by the angry hare.
