Juniper - a family of evergreen bushes and trees - is a young slave at Marshank and close friends with Yarrow. He escapes with help from Brome and Keyla, and later participates in an attack on the fortress. While standing up to celebrate he is struck and killed by an arrow from one of Badrang's archers, and buried on a clifftop.
