Gender: male

Janglur - derived from the Middle English word janglere meaning "chatterer" - is a large resident of Mossflower who travels around with his family in a tent. He is the son of Gawjo and Ellayo, husband of Rimrose, father of Song, and wields several weapons. He has very thick dark fur, long eyelashes, and hooded eyes that make him appear to be lazy or tired; in reality he is a fierce fighter. After running into two Marlfoxes he decides to warn the Redwall inhabitants, meeting up with the GUOSIM and then the Noonvale Troupe. They all arrive at the Abbey the following day and it is here where he reunites with his good friend Rusvul, with the two fending off a small vermin band. He marvels at the beautiful place, as even though he had visited as a youngster he does not remember, and enjoys working in the Cellar. He becomes entangled in the ongoing struggle against the Marlfoxes after Dwopple is kidnapped by them and attempts to bargain with them, but the ensuing ambush goes horribly wrong and the woodlanders are saved by the GUOSIM. While fleeing back to Redwall he kills Ziral with her own axe, and although this ends the battle it causes the Marlfoxes to swear revenge on the Abbey (specifically him). They quickly discover that Martin's tapestry has been stolen, and Janglur witnesses Rusvul's outburst on Dann who had been on guard duty when the piece was snatched. He later chides his friend, saying that it was not right to call Dann a coward, and later works with him and Florian to help defend Redwall against the vermin by stopping their various attempts to gain access into the grounds. After killing Gelltor he leads a defense on the walltop but realizes the vermin are trying to cut down an old oak tree near the wall so it will be crushed, but the bees and termites who live in the tree send the Marlfoxes fleeing. Not long after they return with much larger numbers and push their way through the main gate, resulting in Janglur and Rusvul charging at them. They are backed by the sudden arrival of Skipper's crews, and the last two remaining Marlfoxes are slain. He is later reunited with Gawjo and Song when they return to the Abbey with Martin's recovered tapestry, and they decide to stay there for the remainder of their seasons.
