Idga is the Queen of a small grove located two leagues west from Salamandastron who lives here with her husband Araltum, son Roopert, and squirrel band. Like her family she is extremely arrogant, conceited, lazy, and fat. She is responsible for sewing the Royal Banner that is stolen by Gulo's horde when they ambush the squirrels during the Marking of the Marches. Along with Araltum, Driltig, and Pinetooth she is the lone survivor, though she and her husband care more about the stolen banner than their murdered patrol. The reluctant pair strike a deal with Doogy and Tam: if they can retrieve the banner, they will be allowed to leave permanently. When they eventually return with the banner the royal family is stripped of their crowns and ordered to live with their fellow squirrels as equals. Due to her personality and almost cruel treatment, Idga is considered to be a "grey character".
