Hookfin is a sword-wielding resident of Terramort and Captain of Blacksail who murders Tan Loc's family, and as a result the vole swears vengeance. He participates in the failed pursuit of a deserted Greypatch and, along with Grimtooth and Ripfang, takes command of the corsairs during the final battle as a mentally insane Gabool hides inside his fortress. When he realizes they are losing he attempts to flee but encounters a waiting Tan Loc, and he is killed by the vole.
