(Hon Rosie)
Gender: female

Appears In: Mariel of Redwall and The Bellmaker
Rosemary - also known as Rosie or Hon Rosie - is a resident of Salamandastron and member of the Long Patrol as well as the Foot'n'Fur Rangers. She is the wife of Tarquin, daughter-in-law of Lorquin, mother of twelve, and along with Clary and Thyme forms a hare trio who patrol around Mossflower. She is the youngest in the group, almost always in a cheerful mood, loves to laugh and play tricks on enemies (including imitating their voices) and famous for her head-splitting laugh. Despite her casual attitude at times she is a fearsome warrior who expertly wields several weapons and does not hesitate to charge into battle. As she is an excellent shot she is sometimes called "Hawkeye" by Clary and possesses an extensive healing knowledge, carrying various herbs and poultices in her satchel. While returning from their patrol the trio rescue Mariel from being killed by Oykamon's toads, giving her a Long Patrol medal for her bravery and handing her over to Pakatugg who reluctantly agrees to take her to Redwall. They later happen upon a moored Darkqueen on the River Moss and purposely dismantle her, waiting inside until Bigfang and some corsairs return. After soundly beating them, they follow the vermin to Redwall where they discover the place under attack by Greypatch's crew, and swiftly assist in training the inhabitants as well as launching several counter-assaults that eventually causes Greypatch to somewhat back off. The trio later agree to help rescue the oarslaves, but while the first two attempts are mostly successful they are fully aware the third try will possibly mean sacrificing their own lives. With help from several others they engage the corsairs in a bloody battle, laughing the entire time. Rosie suffers horrific wounds that nearly kill her, Clary and Thyme are slain in the fight, and out of one hundred corsairs only eighteen survive. She is later found by Flagg and Mellus who bring her to the Abbey, where the Infirmary keepers nurse her back to health. She eventually marries Tarquin, has twelve offspring with him, and is later chosen by Martin to join Joseph on the trip to Southsward. After Nagru's death she returns to Redwall where she stays for the remainder of her seasons.
