This pygmy shrew tribe is led by Amballa and reside on the cliffs north of Marshank. They have a nasty habit of capturing innocent travellers and forcing them to care for their babes called Squidjees (due to this they are considered to be "grey characters"), doing just this to Martin's group. After the young mouse saves Dinjer from being eaten by a gannet, a grateful Amballa gives them their freedom. The tribe later participates in the Battle of Marshank.
