Gurdle is the Abbey Cellarkeeper who, on summer's first day, brings up some wild cherry and redcurrant cordial. He participates in the search for Brockhall and prepares for battle (and the possibility of him sacrificing himself) with a murder of crows attack them, but Skipper leads him to safety.
