Guosim is the rapier-wielding President of the Guerrilla Union of Shrews in Mossflower (she is named after the tribe) who lives with them in the woolands. She is loved by Log a Log and weary of Matthias when the young mouse first enters their home, however after Log a Log convinces the others to help she joins him in the quest for Martin's sword as if he manages to kill Asmodeus then Snow will never eat shrews again. The three friends eventually reach the Quarry where they spend most of the day searching for any tunnel openings, however while figuring out what to do next she sits on a big rock and suddenly falls backwards. The rock reveals to be a hatch covering an opening, and both Log a Log and Matthias run in after her. They initially cannot find her until Matthias spots her sitting against the cave wall, but when he approaches her he realizes she is dead and has been fatally bitten by Asmodeus.
