Gullub is the sensible leader of Redwall moles who also acts as Cellarmaster (this he shares with Corksnout) and part-time Gatekeeper. He is the older brother of Skurpul and able to decipher molescript, as evident when he translates Dinny's scrolls. Along with several others he heads into Mossflower to search for a missing Great Doomwyte Idol jewel, however the friends are tricked by Blodd into drinking her powerful mead as she secretly plans on killing them. Gullub is not as intoxicated as his pals and causes the insane hedgehog to spill her ant juice onto herself, resulting in her being swarmed by her bees and dying the "Death of a Thousand Stings".
