This army of at least four hundred water rats serves the Marlfoxes on Marlfox Island. The higher-ranking rats have black fur and wield a short leaf-bladed spear as well as a small round buckler shield. About half join Mokkan and his siblings on the trip to Mossflower to steal beautiful things for a greedy Silth whilst the other half remain behind on the island. Due to being terrified of their masters they are loyal to them, and any survivors of the final battle throw their weapons into the lake before staying on Marlfox Island to become peaceful farmers under the watchful eye of Megraw.
