Gruven is a member of the Juskarath clan who lives with them in northwest Mossflower. He is the mate of Antigra, father of Gruven Zann, wields a shield and spear, and considered to be a good albeit not overly intelligent fighter. After he is told that his son will not be the next Taggerung, he challenges Sawney to a duel but the ferret Chieftain tries to get him to back off. When Gruven refuses and holds his shield too low, he is slain when his leader throws a knife into his throat. Sawney then forces a grieving Antigra to rename their son Gruven after his "foolish father".
