Groo is the rapier-wielding GUOSIM leader who lives with his tribe in Mossflower. He is good friends with Skipper, often visits Redwall, and participates in the search for the missing Bikkle and Ruggum. After safely returning them to the Abbey he helps to investigate Brockhall and rescues his friends from some attacking crows. He later assists in rescuing Crikulus and Malbun who have been captured by Wicky's band, and after running into the stoats again he and Skipper discover that Brockhall is home to three terrifying adders. The pals escape and he decides to keep his shrews at Redwall until it is safe to return to the woodlands, which he does after helping to fight against the snakes at Brockhall.
