Grivel is a cutlass-wielding crew member aboard Bludgullet who, along with Durgy and Feerog, plans a mutiny against Vizka. As he is aware that Snikey is Vizka's spy he has Durgy kill him, however Glurma secretly witnesses the murder and alerts her Captain. Some time later when they arrive in Mossflower, Vizka nominates the three to lead a group and demands they fight to the death. Grivel somewhat lowers his weapon as he hesitates to fight his fellow corsairs and is instantly killed by Feerog.
