Greytail is a member of the Sparra tribe who lives with then in the Abbey Roof. He is the husband of Dunwing, brother-in-law of Bull, and father of Warbeak. At one point before his daughter hatches he goes on a hunting mission with Bull, with the King carrying Martin's sword in his talons. While flying over the Quarry he accidentally drops the weapon and Asmodeus swiftly snatches it up, and Bull forces Greytail to retrieve it. He is fatally bitten by the adder and manages to return to the Roof where he tells Dunwing the truth (Bull lies to the other birds) before passing away.
