Goodwife - better known as Goody - is a resident of Mossflower where she lives with her family. She is the wife of Ben, mother of Coggs, Ferdy, Posy, and Stickle, and adoptive mother of Gonff. They raise the orphaned latter after finding him alone in the woodlands, and fully support the CORIM in their fight against the Thousand Eye Army. The hedgehogs often host meetings as well as prepare food for their friends, and she helps to heal a severely wounded Martin following his vicious duel with Tsarmina. She is the first Abbey Friar (though she acts as head cook before the title is implemented) and very skilled at baking clay. One of her clay trays is used to hide a Great Doomwyte Idol jewel, which is found by some Redwallers during the events of Doomwyte.
