Garraway is the javelin-wielding Queen of the Northern Otter River Tribes (NORT) who lives with them in northern Mossflower. She is the daughter of Daddo, sister-in-law of Bargud, aunt of Folgrim and Tungro, relative of Warthorn through marriage, and relative of Catkin and Mayberry. While Martin's group is being attacked by the Flitchaye she comes to their rescue and reunited with her good friend Gonff, allowing the friends to come into her holt. She later tells them to travel to the Northlands via water and gives them a small raft they use to head up the River Moss, but it is destroyed after going over a waterfall. Upon their return she discovers her relation to Folgrim and Tungro, and joins them on the trip to Redwall where she is reunited with Warthorn.
