Gael is the King of Southsward who lives with his family in Floret. He is the husband of Serena, father of Truffen, adoptive father of Benjy, Figgs, and Wincey, and tricked into allowing a "peaceful" Nagru inside the castle. The royal family is then enslaved inside their own home until they escape with help from Rab's crew, but he is not swift enough and recaptured. He later flees with Mariel's band and, after Nagru's defeat, adopts Benjy and his two sisters.
