Furgle is an old white-bearded resident of Mossflower who meets Arula and Samkim while they are searching for Martin's stolen sword. He joins them for a short while until they discover Thura's body, and as he realizes the stoat has died from Dryditch Fever he immediately leaves for Redwall. Upon arriving he tells his good friend Vale about his findings, and mentions to the elders that the only known cure is the Flowers of Icetor.
