Furff is a small Dibbun of Redwall and friends with Dugry. She is nearly snatched up by Murig but rescued by Bosie, and later heads to the Bell Tower with Mousebabe in an attempt to ring the twin bells. They are spotted by Tarul who has been hiding out waiting for an opportunity to kidnap a Redwaller, and he prepares to grab them. The infants are saved by the timely arrival of Violet, who helps them to pull the tolling ropes and Tarul is crushed to death by the gigantic bells.
