Fordpetal is a young resident of Salamandastron and member of the Long Patrol who wields a javelin. She has a crush on Bradberry and participates in an attack on Swartt's horde and retreats with the Sleepers, however while they are fleeing she is severely wounded by a spear from Zigu. The ferret then viciously beats her with the flat of his rapier, resulting in her death. Her body is recovered by Bradberry and Bloggwood while Sabretache duels with Zigu, with the former defeating the latter and killing him. A grieving Bradberry later talks to Sunflash while standing over the deceased haremaid, wondering aloud why war is necessary.
