Folgrim is a large resident of his brother's holt who lives with them at the fork of streams between the Northfork Stream and River Moss. He is the grandson of Daddo, younger brother of Tungro, nephew of Garraway, Mask, and Warthorn, and relative of Catkin and Mayberry. He is considered to be a fearsome creature and pursues some vermin who have been attacking the holt, however he is captured by them and cruelly tortured for two seasons. Upon his return he is found to have one eye, crippled paws, scars all over his body, and a destroyed mind; due to violent behaviour he is often banished by Tungro who always forgives him. He saves Martin's group when he suddenly appears and brutally kills Sholabar, and when he first meets Chugger he laughs aloud. Tungro allows him to join the Warrior on the trip to the North Shores, and during the journey his mind heals thanks to Chugger's innocence. When they return home he moves to Redwall to be with his uncle Warthorn.
