Florian is a resident of Noonvale and leader of the Wandering Noonvale Companions Troupe who wears a wide-brimmed straw hat, yellow boots, lilac silk frock coat, and carries a silver-tipped cane. He is the descendant of Ballaw and Flobbears, has a massive appetite, and can be quite dramatic even when not engaged in theatre. After encountering two Marlfoxes in Mossflower he decides to lead his group to Redwall so they can warn the inhabitants, and not long after arriving here Dwopple is kidnapped by the vermin. Despite the mousebabe constantly causing chaos that often sees them get into a little argument, Florian secretly cares for him and helps to rescue the infant. He plays a big role in the ongoing struggle against the Marlfoxes, and while on guard duty he discovers the vermin attempting to swing over the wall via a rope. This plan fails when he uses a sharp knife attached to a pole to cut the rope, resulting in Stukkfur crashing into the Abbey wall. He later participates in the final battle, comes up with the idea of any surviving vermin to clean up Redwall, and starts to head back to Noonvale but returns to the Abbey (for how long is unknown) when the Troupes' old cart falls apart. At the end of Marlfox it is revealed that he plans to turn the events into a play.
