Fleng is a Scorecat in Felis's army who lives with them at the fortress on Green Isle. Along with twenty guards he is sent out by the wildcat warlord to pursue the otterclans, however this is actually a diversion by Felis who plans to take the rest of his soldiers to the coast so he can kill their families. Half of Fleng's group is killed in an assault by the otters and he flees with the surviving eight, though he later spots Leatho and two others sneaking towards the fortress. As he is aware that Felis will be angry at his failure, he decides to follow them so it will appear as if they have caught the trio. While approaching the structure his group is discovered by Scaut who believes they are otters, and Pitru orders them to fire arrows. As a result Fleng and his guards are killed.
