Flandor is a young resident of an unknown place and prisoner in Althier. Along with Midda and Tura he acts as one of the leaders, and helps to conceive an escape plan via a tunnel. Vilaya discovers their plan and attacks Midda, demanding her to reveal the tunnel's location, but a heroic Flandor leaps onto the Quean's back before being pulled off by vermin guards. Just as his footpaws touch ground again he strikes Vilaya hard in the eye with his powerful rudder, and the infuriated Quean swiftly stabs him in the neck with her poisoned knife. He dies moments later, saying that he is quite thirsty. It is later revealed that, prior to his kidnapping, he meets Ambry while she is traveling to Salamandastron. They become friends but one night he vanishes, resulting in a worried Ambry constantly searching for him. She learns of his murder by the other prisoners, and eventually fulfills her promise of revenge when she kills Vilaya outside Redwall.
