Firjak is a resident of Mossflower who wields a sling. He is the son of the Squirrelqueen and father of Elmjak. In his Dibbunhood he and his best friend Bankrose are captured by corsairs but he escapes, kills the guards, rescues his pal, and carries her to a sycamore tree where he fends off the vermin with his sling and pebbles. The last rock in his pouch is flat and green, and it is later carved into the shape of a sycamore leaf and named the Greenstone Leaf; this symbol marks the alliance struck between the otters and squirrels after the incident. He receives a wound to his footpaw during this scuffle and rarely climbs trees as a result, but does learn how to swim as expertly as an otter. His son Elmjak gives the Greenstone Leaf to Sunflash many seasons later.
