Feryn is a resident of Salamandastron and Blademaster in the Long Patrol who wields his family broadsword. He is the father of Adarin, grandfather of Buckler and Clerun, and great-grandfather of Calla and Urfa. He does not wear a uniform or speak in the traditional harespeech, dislikes the strict mountain life, and is best friends with Brang. During a battle against the Ravagers he saves the Badger Lord from being slain by Armuk Rinn when he kills the sable, and as thanks Brang gives him the Blademaster's Medal. Feryn later passes down this medal and the broadsword to Adarin.
