Ferdimond is a young resident of Salamandastron and member of the Long Patrol who wields a rapier. He is the husband of Kersey, brother-in-law of Dauncey, and father of Dauncey de Mayne. Upon meeting each other he and Doogy initially argue until Wonwill forces them to box. Both suffer some broken teeth and bruises in the duel which ends in a tie, and they become good friends.
