Fenna is a young resident of Redwall where she lives with her friends Horty and Springald, and like them she is slightly immature. She joins Bragoon and Saro on the trip to Loamhedge's ancient remains, gains a different outlook on life during the journey, and participates in the Battle of the Abyss until she and her friends are forced to leave by Bragoon and Saro. On the trip back to Redwall, Horty initially carries Martin's sword until he wounds himself while showing off to the GUORAF so she ends up carrying the famous weapon the rest of the way. As Carrul receives a vision from Martin telling him that whomever is holding his sword upon returning from a journey will succeed him, she eventually becomes Abbess.
