Felldoh
Gender: male
Species: squirrel
Appears In: Martin the Warrior
Felldoh is a young slave at Marshank where he lives with his father Barkjon (his mother is never mentioned). He is originally from the North Shores but it is unknown where he is born, though it is mentioned that Badrang beat him in his infancy. He is well-built, a skilled fighter, rarely misses when using javelins, and extremely brave. When Martin is tied to two posts outside Marshank and nearly eaten by gulls he saves the young mouse by helping to throw stones at the birds, but is spotted by Stiffear hurling a rock that rips off part of Skalrag's ear and is tossed into the Prison Pit. Here he meets Brome and Martin, and they eventually escape with help from Grumm, Keyla, and Rose. As they leave he vows to return and free the remaining slaves, and while out at sea they become separated after an attack by a large fish. He and Brome later wash ashore south of the fortress and they meet the Rambling Rosehip Players, instantly befriending the group and conceiving a daring plan to rescue the other prisoners by infiltrating Marshank and putting on a "performance". During this show he sneaks off and starts to free the slaves but Druwp raises the alarm, and he kills the treacherous vole before they are forced to flee. Along with Ballaw and Rowanoak he saves Celandine (who has fallen behind during the escape) from being captured by a handful of Clogg's corsairs, but during a celebratory feast some time later Brome notifies him that they have been followed by Badrang's trackers. The two pals make a false trail leading into a swamp, and Felldoh kills five of the ten vermin. Brome expresses his horror at this and the squirrel reveals that seasons of cruel slavery have made him impassive when it comes to slaying Badrang's soldiers, though he wishes he could be a peaceful creature and regrets that he is able to kill vermin so easily. Not long after returning to their camp he leads a charge against Marshank that ends in Juniper's murder, and he once again vows to kill Badrang. Early one morning he heads out for the fortress by himself, unaware that he is being followed by Brome, Keyla, and Tullgrew. He spots Badrang and challenges him to single combat, so enraged that he fails to see the stoat Tyrant planning an ambush in case things go wrong. Thanks to his physical strength and sheer determination, Felldoh overpowers his foe and beats him with his javelin until Badrang manages to escape and order his soldiers to attack. In what is presumed to be the Bloodwrath, the courageous squirrel slays twenty vermin with only his wooden weapons before being killed himself. He is deceased by the time Brome reaches him, a smile on his face and a broken javelin in each paw. Felldoh is buried where he falls, and mourned by all. His murder is eventually avenged when Martin kills Badrang in the final battle.
