Fatch is a young GUOSIM member who joins his tribe on the trip to Southsward. While aboard Pearl Queen he almost falls into the sea but rescued by Rufe, and after this they become best friends. In the Battle of Southsward he returns the favour when he saves Rufe from being killed by Silvamord, being fatally wounded in the process. He dies in the squirrel's arms (the two are guarded by Durry) and Rufe names one of Finnbarr's swords after the heroic shrew.
