Durgy is a black-furred crew member aboard Bludgullet who wields a dagger. Along with Feerog and Grivel he plans a mutiny against Vizka and secretly kills the spy Snikey by stabbing him in the ribs and throwing him into the sea; it is later revealed that Glurma witnesses the event and tells Vizka. Some time later, upon their arrival in Mossflower, the fox leader purposely chooses the three would-be mutineers to lead a scouting party and when they agree he decides to have them fight to the death to decide the one leader. Grivel is instantly killed by Feerog, then he is fatally stabbed from behind by Durgy. Vizka announces that he must die for slaying his fellow corsairs, and the others swarm him. The unlucky rat's body is then thrown into the water.
