This hedgehog tribe is led by Dunespike and reside on the sand hills south of the North Shores. They pretend to be ghosts to scare off any Sea Rogues, walking on tall stilts and plastering white clay on their faces as well as wearing long robes; these tricks, coupled with the stilts, make it appear as if they are floating. Members live in sand-covered houses, cover their tracks, enjoy eating a stew with pancakes, and drink a beer called Dunehog Seafoam. They participate in a sport called "spiketussling", using smaller stilts during these duels to practice their balance and combat skills. Martin's group meets them on their trip to the North Shores, with Dunespike giving them a large amount of necessary supplies and food. Upon their return to Mossflower the hedgehogs helps them again by showing them a shortcut on the Northfork Stream, and during the journey they discover a copse filled with plentiful fruit and water so they decide to move there.
