Dirva is an ancient resident of an unknown place who acts as Vilaya's personal assistant and treats her master with respect and admiration, with the Quean often reciprocating. Not long after discovering the tunnel the young captives use to escape, Vilaya heads through on direction and orders Dirva to go with Zwilt the other way so she can spy on him. When she spots the Commander and Gliv whispering to each other she demands the latter reveal what they were talking about, warning the female stoat that she is watching. Lugg, Gliv's mate, then lifts Dirva off the ground and fatally suffocates her by holding her neck in one paw and covering her mouth and nose with the other. It is later revealed that Zwilt had asked the two stoats to kill Dirva without leaving any suspicious marks on her body, but upon finding the rat Vilaya immediately knows who is responsible and vows to slay Zwilt.
