Dinjer is an infant member of the Highbeasts tribe who lives with them on cliffs north of Marshank. He is the son of Amballa, loses his father to a gannet, and has a habit of tormenting the shrews' prisoners. He almost suffers the same fate as his father but is rescued by Martin, receiving his first punishment from Amballa as he gets angry because he thinks the young mouse had tried to wound him.
