Dethbrush is the head tracker in Ferahgo's horde who leads a group of rats in pursing a deserted Dingeye and Thura. When he finds the former he decapitates him with Martin's sword (the stoats had stolen it from Redwall after accidentally killing Hal) and takes the weapon for himself. Samkim gets wind of the news and tracks him to the Great Inland Lake where the unlucky fox is killed by the Deepcoiler.
