Deesum is a resident of Noonvale and member of the Wandering Noonvale Companions Troupe. She is extremely protective of her nephew Dwopple who often gets into mischief, claiming that it is not his fault even when he is at fault and refusing to punish him; this causes a rift between her and Florian. She joins the group on the trip to Redwall after their cart gets stuck during a thunderstorm, and is very worried about Dwopple when he is captured by the Marlfoxes (though she does not discipline him upon his safe return).
