The Deepcoiler is a gigantic resident of the Great Inland Lake and supposedly longer than three boat lengths. GUOSSSOM members think it to be simply a myth but it makes itself known by attacking at random times, and has killed many creatures including Dethbrush and Spriggat. Samkim shoves Martin's sword into the roof of the beast's mouth, and when it closes its jaw the blade digs into its brain causing its death. It is later discovered on the beach by Mara who takes the sword and eventually gives it back to Samkim. In Marlfox the beast is called a "lake monster" by Ellayo.
