Dandy is the cheerful GUOSIM leader who wears colourful clothes and wields a pair of metal-tipped clogs, hence his name. He first meets Posy and Uggo when Sircolo leads them to him while they are escaping from Razzid's crew, and upon hearing of the Wearat's presence in Mossflower he orders his tribe to sail along the River Moss towards Redwall so they can warn the inhabitants. The following day the GUOSIM moor their boats and are sleeping when Razzid's corsairs ambush them, killing several shrews and destroying their logboats. Dandy loses his clogs in the melee (these are found by an unnamed stoat) and, along with some others, washed downriver; they manage to slay a handful of corsairs before meeting up with the Long Patrol and Rogue Crew Sea Otters who are following Drogbuk to the Abbey. Along the way he shows off his expert climbing skills, though despite spotting Ketral following them he is too late to warn Swiffo who is murdered by the fox. He reunites with his tribe at Redwall, participates in the final battle, and kills the stoat who had previously stolen his clogs. After Razzid's death he presumably moves back into Mossflower with his shrews.
