Cornspurrey is the old leader of Camp Tussock who lives here with his family. He is the husband of Mem, father of Lynum, Saithe, and Tammo, father-in-law of Pasque, a retired Colonel in the 51st Paw and Fur Platoon of the Long Patrol, wields a battle axe, and has one eye that is permanently closed. In his youth he runs away to join the famous hare army and, as a result, is disowned by his father. When he finds out that Tammo is wanting to do the same he refuses, saying his son is far too young. After Tammo participates in the Battle of the Ridge of a Thousand and is named a Long Patrol Captain, he reveals that he is proud of his son.
