Cockleburr - sometimes called Cockles - is a small resident of Redwall who originally works as Alder's assistant in the Kitchen. During an attack on the Abbey he throws a hard turnip at Greypatch, striking the corsair in his good eye and causing temporary blindness. He becomes Friar after Alder's retirement.
