This very large vermin army is led by Cluny and consists of mostly rats, as the Scourge views them as superior to other species. When they first arrive in Mossflower they number about five hundred, however after the Captains force unwilling vermin (ferrets, foxes, stoats, weasels, and more rats) to join the horde swells to a little over six hundred. They reside around Saint Ninian's Church and, despite their vastness, are defeated by the Redwallers.
