Cleckstarr - commonly known as Clecky - is a resident of the Northlands who has white fur in the winter, and brown-and-white fur in the spring. He wears a white tunic, possesses a massive appetite, and travels with his best friend Gerul. While wandering through Mossflower the pair are discovered by Martin II's group who bring them to Redwall, and he becomes the first hare to live here since Basil. He is responsible for finding one of the Tears of all Oceans, participates in a fight against Lask's crew, and joins Martin II on the trip to Sampetra where he loses an ear in the final battle; after this he wears a red faux velvet ear. He later returns to Redwall where he decides to stay, and gives himself the title "Redwall Hare in Charge of Nautical Activities".
